Week 8
Joy
Thick fog every which way
I'd been floating through for days
Or weeks..
I can't completely remember
But I think since one November
Years ago
Thousands of tears ago
Before I cried this ocean
Before my anger caused the motion
The current that kept me floating
Through the gray
But one day,
Like the dove that saved Noah and his ark
The clouds began to part
As the sun beamed down it melted my heart
Bright light on my face
Instantly my sorrow was replaced
Sparking every last trace of grace
Like the boom of a gun starting a race
The warmth of the rays
Evaporates my ocean
It's like a magic potion
No longer floating through the gray
What a beautiful place this is
Once the clouds erase and the mist lifts
What an interesting twist my path has made
Now destiny can never fade..
You'll never know the change you made
You saved me before you met me

I liked that, you do need to go listen @warpedpoetic, and anyone else, the rhythm of the words spoken can not be portrayed in the written words. Very nice amariespeaks, I really liked it.

thank you @bashadow! you never know how poetry is "meant" to sound by the poet until you hear it read aloud. I am liking spoken word more and more. Some of my poems do not sound that powerful - but others are made for it I think. This one was not coming out the way I wanted it to lol so I'm glad to hear you actually liked it!

Yes I did, that's one box I need to step out of soon, and put my voice on-line I guess, I just do not like how I sound recorded, and is something I need to get over.

lol I hope to hear it if you do share! It's liberating lol I was very nervous and put it off for all these years, I finally started to read some to my sister and she liked the way I read them more than reading lol. Then this urking want to share started but I (like you) didn't like how I sounded.. but everyone is unique and that's what make art awesome so I've embraced mine ... or am trying to 😉 I hope you will too! tag me if you do!

I will one more box to cross off the list. I know people make bucket list when they get older, me I just keep trying to crawl out of the boxes I built over the years, then maybe I'll do a bucket list.

this one is quiet. I think I have better poems for spoken word than this one but this is the closest to joy that I think I have ever written lol
