No one wins in a divorce. Oh, it might be necessary; it might be the only way forward. But no one wins. The biggest losers in a divorce are children. My girls were no exception; I can't know the extent of their suffering, but "Broken Home" is. to me, the sound of it. And, yes, at the time of its writing, the piece ended with hope. Hope that a net benefit would result.
They are adults, now, my girls. I choose to believe they have been able overcome the pain of their broken home.
