Learn Portuguese with Cris #5

in dsound •  7 years ago

Hello guys!
I'm @crissimoes and this is my fifth post here on @dsound! I have really enjoyed doing these classes for you all. I know it is not easy to learn this language, but I will try my best and make the classes very simple and easy to understand.
Let's go to the fifth Portuguese class!

**Household and Electronic Appliances **
Today I’m gonna teach you some vocabulary about Household and Electronic Appliances.
Household Appliances in Portuguese is “Electrodomésticos”. It is just one word.
I know it can be a bit complicated to say this word, but with time and with some practice you will achieve it.

The singular of this word is “O Electrodoméstico”, it is a masculine word.
In plural is “Os Electrodomésticos”, we have only to add a “s” in the end of the word to have the plural.

I’m going to give you some examples of devices and appliances that you can found in a house.
Let’s get started!

• O frigorifico – The fridge
• O congelador – The freezer
• O forno – The oven
• O fogão – The stove
• O microondas – The microwave
• A tostadeira – The toaster
• A máquina de lava a loiça – The washing machine
• A máquina de lavar a roupa – The dishwasher
• O computador – The computer
• O teclado – The keyboard
• O barbeador or A máquina de barbear – The shaver
• O alisador – The straightener
• A televisão – The tv

As you can see some words have an “A” and others have a “O”. “A” and “O” are definite articles in singular, in plural are “As” and “Os”.
• Use “A” if is a feminine word
• Use “O” if is a masculine word

I advise you to listen this recording a few more times.
And we come to the end of the class. I hope you enjoyed my fifth post here on @dsound and I'm looking forward to see you next time.

Bye!!
