El diablo suelto. (the devil's free)

A warm musical greeting.

Heraclio Fernández was a Venezuelan composer who was born in Maracaibo and from an early age was taken to La Guaira, near Caracas. Born in 1851, his father Manuel María Fernández gave him his first piano lessons.

On the day of San José, March 19, 1888, the newspaper founded by his father the song El diablo suelto, a Waltz by Heraclio and which would become the best-known theme of his compositions, comes to light.

These are some of the actions that Heraclio composed: "Misa a dos voces", the waltzes "Ecos del Corazón", "Las variaciones sobre el araguato", "Happy New Year", "Al General Francisco Alcántara" and the dances "La juguetona", "Violetas sensitivas", "No me olvides" and "Recuerdos del Teatro Naar".

In the original score it says that The Loose Devil is a waltz, but over time, many performers have placed it a quicker time and it has become Joropo.

Heraclio afernandez dies in La Guaira in 1886 leaving a great legacy to Venezuelan music. Today I present to you my version of El diablo suelto.

Enjoy it.
