Bright Monday

Hello friends, I hope you had a delightful week end.

LISTEN TO BITTER END ON DSOUND

Today I am showing a song that I have written when I was 20 years old , roughly 12 years ago and I never had the chance to show it to anyone, except for live performance.

It's a story of an old man, living in the same house where he lived with his wife for 40 years, and she passed away not so long ago .He is trying to figure out if there is still a reason for him to live.

I have always been touched with couple that stay together forever, till death part them. I truly believe that love continues to shine even in the after life, in a form of a sound wave or a thought.

If I get a good feedback from this song, I would consider recording it for my second album, I hope you enjoy it :)

Bitter End by Ed Privat

Do you think that a dream could end in a day with no doubt
I am just getting too old, as I see you're reading my mind
Just woken from upstairs, a quiet place where I deserve to stay
I am just getting too old, and nobody cares if I am alright

My time has come to a bitter end, so why should I fight
Already gone when you left me struggling with myself
And now I see a frightening light
My time has come to a bitter end, so why should I fight
Already gone when you left me strug gling with myself
And now I see a frightening light

Once upon a time, there were happiness here
In peace with my half, we used to know love in its real sense
But the clock never stopped and people passing by
Tried to stop the sands of time but my wife sdied
And there's no cure, for feeling insecure, hope to find something I must find

My time has come to a bitter end, so why should I fight
Already gone when you left me struggling with myself
And now I see a frightening light
My time has come to a bitter end, so why should I fight
Already gone when you left me struggling with myself
And now I see a frightening light

Ad lib

It's such a heartbreaking story to think about. Sharing your memories with someone you loved for 40 years just to see her pass away.. I guess it turns the thing you call "home" into a prison.

Were you inspired by a real life example?

Not at all, I wrote this song more than 12 years ago and I was 20 years old at the time. I think I saw some romanticism and sadness in the fact of ending up alone.
I love your metaphor on the prison, thanks for passing by!

Yes. I saw that you wrote a few year back. I just thought that maybe you had a relative or acquaintance in that situation and you were inspired by that.

Lol not at all , Unless I "channeled" am old man soul into my body. Is it your Husky ? Here is mine

  ·  7 years ago (edited)

Nope. It is not mine. I do not own a dog yet as I don't see myself responsible enough to do it. But if I were to own one it will most likely be a Husky. I love them and yours looks amazing.

Good job brother.
Warm greetings from me @ipolatjeh1988

Putting emotion on paper and turning it into music can make dealing with the loss of a loved one more bearable.

You are absolutely right thanks for passing by :) and for commenting

Good job !

Big up @grant-vegra shout out for the resteem

Great job man... ✌
Quite a while you composed, but it still hits the soul... Captivating lyrics, and fresh vibe.
Nice one 👌 @edprivat

Thanks for your splendid comment and for the support I truly appreciate

Wow it's so amazing ... I love it so much

Thank you dear friend !

Its sounding like the kind of song I just composed last two weeks, but is more about a friend who was going gay on me, it's funny and touching though, please sir is it cool to post an original song on steemit, knowing u risk loosing that song if some copies it

A similar situation happened to me with a gay friend few years back so it's interesting that you mention this very specific story.
We obviously can't compare the two song because my song is about death, and yours is about emancipation so it has a different tone to it .

I've shown this song to my brother back in the days and told me it reminded him of a song called "just a friend of mine" by Vaya Con Dios

It's probably the minor chords
Cheers !

About coping my music, I don't mind if people do cover, my first album is protected after I released it on Tunecore, and all the songs that you create on the blockchain have a legal value as well, because it's dated and will stay there forever as a proof on your ownership.

People can steal but you can retrace anything thanks to content ID

Thanks for the insight sir, really getting learn alot from steemit, so guess I can start dropping some of my songs now

Awesome good luck!

Good stuff Ed. At points you almost sound like Amy Winehouse! Please take that as a compliment.

I would be interested in hearing this with you voice as it is 12 years later.

Yes me too , especially i would say "bitter" with a short E and not "Beeter" hahaha.
How could i take it as anything but a compliment, Amy Winehouse was one of a kind artist so I do accept the compliment and let it soak in hahha

Hmm, Like my stuff man. I can hear the hiss at the beginning but the sounds drown it out. Sounds ace with the cans on Ed. Very unique voice.

Oh jeez this is very old stuff and it was recorded at home a long time ago Thanks none the less jeff

Inspiring to get mine out. Great stuff man :)

AWEsome bro !

this one is amazing....i love your vocal tone in this one a lot

Thanks buddy ! that's some old stuff but i appreciate :)
