In The Beginning

In The Beginning is off my album "Emerge Into Light" released on bandcamp in March, 2017. This has been slightly remixed and drastically remastered for a dsound exclusive listen into this piece. It's an interesting blend of Native American flute with electronic dance music created on a eurorack modular synthesizer and recorded in ableton. It's kind of crazy just opening up an ableton file from a year ago. I've been producing music for around fifteen years, but its apparent how much I've learned in the last year about mastering audio. While I have been producing electronic music for 15 years I have spent considerably more time trying to learn and improve my craft in the last three years. I started spending a year focusing extremely heavily on synthesis and learning about how sounds, synthesis and synthesizers work including how to build them myself. The next year I spent learning more about how to mix properly, and this last year I've been working on my mastering skills. When I started producing electronic music, Youtube, not to mention dtube didn't even exist. There was hardly any resources available for learning and they were definitely not online. I was lucky enough to take an elective in electronic music production while doing a summer program at berklee college of music for upright jazz bass. This is what started my entire passion for electronic music and why I find myself where I am today, These days its amazing how easy it is to find information and tutorials. It kind of blows my mind how much you can learn from the internet these days.
