Hi friends, I am back with one more fantastic folktales from India. This is 3rd episode of FTT-Fantastic Folktales from India Podcast.

What are folktales Folktales are stories passed down through generations, mainly by oral storytelling. Folktales are of very wide they may be fairy tales (or fairy tales), tall tales, trickster tales, myths, rebel, humor and legends. Folk tales gives us insight into our past in very plain language with punch of fantasy, every story- teller who tell folk add or removes plot or character depending on how he perceives world. In India, Grandmother (grandparents) are major folk tellers who pass their stories to us.

I am sharing two folktales very famous in their respective states one is in translated in English Language.

Tale in English Language,

The Past Never Passes : This oral tale was collected and retold by A.K. Ramanujan, an Indian scholar, hails from Karnataka state of South India. This is a humors tale about a king and his marriage with a gypsy woman which bring before in front of us a question about relation of one person with his past.
