Since studying psychology in university I have always had a fascination with Carl Jung and even though I think a lot of his ideas are somewhat "woo woo" I really enjoy hearing him speak. I have listened to many recordings of him speaking (they can be a bit hard to find as cameras weren't as available back then) and this particular discussion on his concept of *ANIMA* both intrigues me and put a smile on my face.

i listened to a lecture by a modern day shaman who equated the word Yahweh to the the sound of an inhalation and exhalation - breathing. the life force. i've always found the philosophy and lore of pagan religions compelling - how they incorporate the elements of fire, air, water and earth into the explanation of life. i think there is definitely an innate collective unconscious that permeates many cultures, as so many separate cultures have their version of world snake or world tree.

Have you ever read any Joseph Campbell? If you haven't I think you would really enjoy him, his discussions of archetypes and mythology really mesh well with all of these topics!
