Quiet Love Heals

Quiet love heals
Many still-buried violences,
Pours in, just so, steady,
Awakening the silences,
Slowly, slowly caressing
The fine, thin, delicate places of skin--
The darknesses that hide
Within the pitied spaces:

A vibrancy and lustre
In the grey wake of death--
The joyful repair,
The innocent, inquisitive eyes
Of a beloved.
