Why do I record this?

I have been a fan of relaxing natural sound. My most favorite element is water. It soothes me during a stressful situation. Prior recording my own samples, I am using an application called relaxio. It has several samples which users can mix depending on their preference. Then, since using that application, I began to appreciate natural sound.

I personally find my everyday environment visually displeasing. It is chaotic. People are rushing to their office, classroom, or wherever they go. Looking at them having a rat race, is only making me more anxious. I usually put my earphone, trying to walk as fast as I can so I reach my favorite corner quickly, the library.

However, lately I find walking slowly, recording things which are happening in my current environment is enjoyable. I can listen a mixture of distant chatter, giggles, vehicles, birds- all creating a balance and pleasing sound. That's how I find beauty amids chaos.

What elements are there in this sample?

In the first few second, you will hear the flowing water from the creek, then you will hear several distant chatter with giggles then in the middle of this recording, you will heard birds sound.

I'll let you be the judge of this Genre, but @onemedia, shed me some light ! is this a pink or a white noise?

To the best of my knowledge, I am not an acoustics expert, but subjectively I would call this 'pink' sound ... not 'white' sound ... I emphasize the word sound because I did have a class in electronic music where the professor insisted that 'noise' is subjective whereas 'sound' is objective.

I believe white noise needs to be more random, across the full spectrum and thus more 'scratchy' ...

I say this is pink sound because of the predominant water sound ... Oh, the birds do add a nice touch !

I think you could entice an ambient music composer to use this in a composition... ;-)

See, I am not wrong asking from you!
Now I and whoever read this post are learning more. I will have to read on pink sound and white sound since I find both are interesting. I think it's a minimalistic approach to music :-p and how to find beauty in chaos.

I liked those birds at the end :)

Glad you liked it! I'll have to visit during a quieter time when there are more birds around!
