The Ghetto

This is a live studio cover of Donny Hathaway's 1970 release called "The Ghetto." I produced this track with my compadre David Sa who played bass. We recorded the track at Benny' Wash n' Dry in Brooklyn, NY. We kept the jazzy instrumental vibe (Sans vocals) and added a bass solo and a Wurlitzer electric piano played by Bennet Pastor.

I've always love Donny Hathaway's soulful voice and arrangements. We lost Donny in this world way too early (He passed when he was 33) but he left us a musical legacy of a lifetime.

I did enjoy this one really much. I like the combination of the electronics, drum with the jazz atmosphere you guys created here.

Thanks for listening and for your comment! I will keep posting more.

Cool! :)
