This is a full body awareness scan - meditation/activation.
It is designed to bring the depth of our awareness into our bodies.
This is an ancient practice first documented (I think) in ancient Egypt, where it was known as a Khat Scan. This practice is the basis for many, many mindfulness based practices.
At Mindful.org they attribute its broad use to the attributes of mindfulness it helps to cultivate in a person:
Attention, Awareness, Embodiment, Letting Be, Leaning into Unpleasant Experiences, Appreciation, and Getting Unstuck.
