Today I read a post by someone who was making the case that little can be done by the individual when it comes to world issues. she made the case that living by example is pretty much all one could do. While living ones truths and by ones moral code is important there is infinitely so much more one can do. People like Sophie Scholl, Mohandas K. Gandhi and so many other have shown us that we can change things even from a seemingly vulnerable and powerless position.

This again reminded me of the many debates over the effectiveness of social media as a medium of change. I don't know how many times people tell me online activism is ineffective and does little to nothing. The truth is however, social media like everything else is what you make of it . I know from experience how one can use social media to shape political change. I was one of the people who helped disseminate information in real time over twitter in Arab spring 2 and helped in the early days of occupy Wallstreet. At the hight of Arab spring 2 I wrote and recorded this song, shortly after someone we worked with was killed by snipers on the ground in Cairo. The images in the companion video are from Arab spring 2 and were shot by a war photographer who's name I forgot but who had an exhibition at the time.
