Here's an exercise showing a chord transition between the 1 / 4 / 5 chords in the key of G in a bluegrass style. I'm using the boom chuck style and picking notes between the transitions, including hammer-ons and pull-offs. It's a really simple exercise that shows how to add rhythmic and melodic interest to a simple chord progression, while teaching you some techniques along the way that may be applied to all your rhythm playing and vocal accompaniment.
