What things should be improved to make Steem great again?

Hi there,

Today's vlog has to do with a very interesting question titled;

What things should be improved to make Steem great again?

This video is a response to this very interesting question asked by @niel96 at dPoll

You can check out the poll here and maybe contribute to this question.

Among all the points suggested, I could only agree and elaborate on the following points;

  1. Steem needs better marketing and hype.

  2. Newcomers do not get enough rewards.

  3. Good content does not get enough reward.

  4. There is not enough interaction on posts.

  5. Flag wars are scaring people away.

There is a lot to talk about as far as this topic is concerned but I hope these points made sense to you as well.

Until my next video,

Thank you for your time!

1.Steem needs better marketing and hype.

I think if Steemit is marketed more, then this would solve point 4.

2 and 3 is a part of the Steemit game. Post good content and engage with other members to increase visibility of your profiles.

5, I'm not sure how big of an issue this is.

Ouups! I turn to disagree with you in almost all the points.

  1. I can see we are in agreement with this point.

  2. I wonder how you expect new comers to post and engage when they are given limited resource credit. It is on the community to welcome them and make them see this place worth their time. Like I said in the video we cannot talk about mass adoption of Steem when do not make it easy for people to adopt Steem.

  3. I would agree with you that good content not having enough rewards is part of the game on Steem but we currently have communities (like @curie and @helpie) doing very well in digging and rewarding good content. If we can have more of such communities, the better.

  4. I do not see how marketing and hype relates to iteration on posts. I expect the marketing to be done out of Steem and to non-steem users.

  5. You might not see Flag wars to be problem because you probably have not been caught up in one. Also, this is a point used against Steem by other platforms. I remember someone from EOS platform tweeting about a flag war between some whales on Steem, using it against the community. It was a shame owing to the fact that he was right.
