What Is DTube And What Is The Future Of DTube?

in dtube •  6 years ago

Before talking about DTube we must first understand about steemit. Steemit is a blockchain, based social media platform launched in July of 2016 in which people post the content and earn rewards by receiving upvotes.

Decentralize Tube (or @DTube ) is a video platform that is linked with steemit and follows the same rules but specifically for video content. So that means DTube is a part of steemit in which it allows us to upload our content in the form of video.

THINGS WE NEED TO UNDERSTAND ABOUT DTUBE

In DTube once you uploaded the video means it would remain on the blockchain forever because currently you cannot delete a video from your channel and also DTube does not show the view counts as it shows the estimated earnings of the video. Right now we all know that if we have to watch a video we all go to the Youtube. So one question that comes to mind that can DTube replace Youtube or compete Youtube? Well before coming to any conclusion we have to properly understand the difference between both platforms

  1. In DTube you cannot delete the video whereas in Youtube that option is available
  2. In Dtube it shows the earnings of the video as an indicator of its success and on Youtube, it shows the views
  3. DTube don't show any advertisements and in Youtube, advertisements are one of the sources to generate reward

CONCLUSION

So, according to me, DTube is the future which can also compete with Youtube but that's not gonna happen in few days, weeks or months, as Youtube is established from a long time but yes DTube have that potential to compete or even overcome Youtube.
