Sorry this is so late! I posted yesterday that my car was totaled and the left side of my upper body was totaled as well. I had to go the ER last night as I can't currently lift my arm higher than a few inches without ridiculous pain. (And I am a red head who has had 3 children, and a foot reconstruction, so pain doesn't usually bother me too much.) They didn't find anything broken, but suspect soft tissue damage so it is going to be a while before I am back to normal completely. Looks like it's going to be my arm this time instead of my legs!😭😭😭
Anyway, I am going to stick to my New Year's Resolution which was to stick to something. I promised myself to make 100 episodes of BuzzSteem and then evaluate where I am at from there. Today is only number 8, so I have a ways to go, but by golly I am going to do it. (I have also not had one drop of soda since January 1st and I have been doing 15 min of German on DuoLingo every night! Go. Me.
So today I drop some truth bombs on Steemit. Most of them are about Haejin and what the whales are allowing to happen to Steemit. Trigger Warning for the die-hard Haejin fans out there. I'm sorry, but I really feel like you should reassess your priorities, and put your faith (and upvotes) into the many, many, many users on Steemit who actually know a thing or two about crypto-trade. Do some digging if you must, like, past the first 20 or so posts on #crypto and #cryptocurrency
I also talked about user @exyle and his report on Steemit's current standing.
I encouraged all Steemians to visit @dsound and check out all the awesome musicians.

Still better than my 3 cents at full bore, lol. Tschüss is a short way of saying goodbeye or "later". German won't be the easiest for you pronounce, and then there are 4 cases. Lucky for me most Germans in the area where I live speak plat Deutsch, much closer to Dutch. It was fun for me in Mn, I could often strike up a conversation with the Amish and understand about 70% of what they were saying without trying. Then I looked into Russian, it has 6 cases; no thanks! I speak enough languages already. I think for where you live, Spanish would be more practical, and it gives you inroads into Italian as a side benefit; I'm finding out as I hear Italian more often living in Europe.

Ya know, I just had a long conversation with a friend who is an author, and is currently working on a book about information, Facebook and shitty writing basically. (Though much more eloquent than the way I just butchered it). But basically, we talk a lot about the recycling of unimportant information, and how the majority of writing going on right now is just a regurgitation of what someone else has said. There couldn't be a more notorious place for this than Steemit. I explained that I was even guilty of this. I write Buzzfeed style articles about things that we have literally been beaten over the head with, over and over again. But I do it because that is where there is an opening on Steemit. What I really want to do is make music covers of Broadway songs, and have lots of in-depth philosophical debates about Libertarianism and Anarchy, but there just isn't that patience and the readers for it, nor the rewards. I would be lying if I said that my strategy wasn't to make a living from Steemit one day. And while it may not be my best work or my heart's desire, I tend to be more of a opportunist and find what is needed and fill that need. To me, it is a thing of beauty.
Getting to my point though, I think there is a lack of really great writing and posts on here because people aren't baeing compensated for their time. Who wants to spend hours and hours and hours dumping their whole selves into posts that are going to make .55 cents. I mean, I feel that way about videos sometimes, but I keep trucking along with the (possibly fairytale) notion, like most Americans, that I am perhaps just a temporarily inconvenienced millionaire. The lack of compensation and attention though, added to the bullshit articles like Haejin's and Grumpycat's and BernieSanders all making tens of thousands of dollars a day, is a perfect recipe for disenchantment and good people leaving Steemit. It's a damn shame really, and that's why I try to keep bringing attention to it in my articles and videos. I mean...it's probably a waste of breath right now, because none of the whales are watching, and even if they are, they most likely don't care, but I do my best to try anyway. I have to have faith in something...why not Steem?

i'm sure you will. Still not a nice feeling. I slipped on the ice a few years ago and badly tore my shoulder too. It took a very long time and yoga to recover my full range of motion without feeling that stingy pain. On the bright side it gives exercise a bigger purpose. Hope you get well soon.
