DTube is a great platform where you can post videos and others can watch them. Much like YouTube, you can upload a video and people can like and comment on it. The viewing experience is great, but how about the uploading experience. Actually, let's talk about channels.
On DTube, you can own one channel on which you upload all of your videos on. On YouTube, you can have multiple channels on where you can split each of your videos into different categories. You could have a channel about gaming and a channel about vlogging. One channel on YouTube has its main focus. DTube, on the other side, you are either stuck with one main focus, or mix different types of videos on one channel. In other words, you have to put your video on which you talk about crypto on the same channel than your video with a nice little animation you made with care. Mixing different focuses on one channel removes the main focus of a channel. That channel would have no main focus and people wouldn't know what is the purpose of that channel. By seperating all different focuses in different channels, it'll fix that issue.
For example, I want to post a Fortnite video on my DTube channel, but I want to show news in an other video on a completely different subject. What are people going to say? Is it a gaming channel or a news channel? It wouldn't make sense at all.
I think that adding the ability to make new channels would add great value to DTube. When uploading, you could select the channel to post the video on. Also, you could make it where you can move the video over to an other channel that is part of the account just in case the poster chose the wrong channel to post the video initially. For each channel you create, you give it a name, a description (like an about page) and a logo (like the profile picture). I personnally think that it'll add great value to the platform and allow content creators to post on different focuses without confusing viewers about the purpose of the channel.
Hope you have a great day!

I agree, I want to be able to do the same thing. It is an obvious modern need for such a platform. Lets hope it gets added in a timely manner!
