Java is still a very valuable and widely-used language in many industries. If you're somewhat new to programming, it's also a very nice starting language IMO.

I just got turned down by an employer that was looking for Java/Spring out in Los Angeles. :(

Oh well live and learn.

better learn something else today I guess. So many devs already knowing Java and it's probably the specialty that would give you the less on your paycheck in the end.
