Hi Friends,
For those of you who have been following me for a long time on here - you may remember my secondary account that I used to post to - @shinebright. I created this account over a year ago because I wanted to have a place to explore the different dapps on the steem blockchain that had more "quick post" type of content.
I try to mainly post things on my main page here that are more long form in nature- either with a big written post or a vlog or music video. The main reason I do this is because I want to always make sure that I'm not in any way taking advantage of the kind souls who have set me up for auto-vote. That being said - I love getting to explore my creativity with photography and editing "instagram" style photos on @appics... and I love the idea of using @actifit to track my fitness goals.
SO... I'm bringing @shinebright back to life! I was browsing through some old posts on there earlier today and realized how much I miss it. Thinking of fun photos to take throughout the day is almost meditative as it causes me to stop and appreciate the beauty around me more often.
If you'd like to see more little glimpses into my day, or see how I'm doing on my fitness journey - then stop by and follow that account. I'm excited to start posting there more regularly again and I hope you guys enjoy seeing the content I post there!

Yeah! It's been fun to use the last couple days. I've turned it into a full "health and wellness" post where I recap the healthy moments from my day. It's honestly made me more active because I know I have to post something at the end of the night. haha

I love @actifit as I have found that it motivates me to remain active given the potential of the tokens they are creating in addition to the upvotes. I have seen an increasing number of users with Appics so it could be another great alternative! Look forward to the experience!

Interesting approach. I have also considered running two accounts. (And in fact I have a second one.) But I can barely manage one! I do like that idea of using them for different purposes, though, and not over-indulging in the good graces of my auto-voters. Now you’ve got me thinking!

Call me a nerd... but that's been my approach from day 1. I guess I just want if someone is going to set me up for auto-vote - to be able to look at anything I've posted and feel like it was totally worth their vote.
That being said ... i think there is a ton of value in quick post content. In fact, I think apps like Appics and Actifit are large in part what will help us reach mass adoption because more people like to use things like Instagram and Fitness apps than make full on Youtube quality videos or write blog posts. I just feel less pressure on a secondary account to have a certain perceived value or regularity of posting. On @shinebright I can do whatever. Post 4 times in a day... not post for 4 days... doesn't matter as much.

I’ve had an eye on Appics since it was announced but the soft launch signup e-mail I received gave me some hesitation. This paragraph unnerved me a bit...
I’m afraid they may be going off Steem or creating their own fork like Golos, Smoke, etc. It’s understandable given SMT delays. While I’m not averse to trying other apps (I played around with Sola & Ono a bit) I prefer to keep focused on Steem based apps and will wait to dive into Appics until the direction is more clear.

Idk , I'd say use the app as a Instagram clone and grow a following there... So when the transition does happen, you are ahead of the curve and have some appics points? ** shrugs ** who knows tho. LoL

I'm just treating it as a drop in Instagram replacement, which I will regularly uninstall and reinstall a week or more later for a few weeks. But a much better option as it's on my steem account, and will hopefully remain there if smt's come out ever. LoL

hmmm that's a fair point. I met the whole Appics team at Steemfest and they seem pretty excited about using the Steem blockchain for their app... but I guess you never really know.
One thing that gives me some hope is that they do have a decent amount of SP invested into their account (not delegated)... which means they've staked their own funds into Steem in order to help the app be more successful. I think that's a good sign.

I got into the Appics test net by signing up and you will be notified via email. I never seem to be successful on actifit due to my lifestyle as a mom. I don't take my handphone around when I do housework. Tried before I and I find it troublesome. So yup... We will see you more at @shinebright 😘

Thanks for following my secondary account too... I'm excited to start posting there more. Totally get how if you don't carry your phone very often - it can be frustrating to not get a very accurate step count.
