45 minutes away from the SYRIAN BORDER 😳 dTube Vlog

Hello dTube, Whats up Steemians!

I come to you yet again with another video from the archives!

This vlog was filmed in Amman, the capital of Jordan, which is approximately 45-47 minutes away from Syria by car.

Our airbnb was located directly in front of the American Embassy, which was heavily guarded at all times (for obvious reasons) by armed troops atop armored vehicles, equipped with 50cal guns. I had to walk in front of these guys every single day, even to throw away the trash, I had to walk right past the machine gun attached to the car.

Even though they were technically on my side, it was still a tense situation, because being so close to Syria, these soldiers are always on high alert, and they'd look at me crazy every time I walked by.

In the time we were in Jordan, several bomb cars exploded a few miles away from our home and some radical groups had shootouts with the Jordanian border troops.

Regardless of all the violence, we decided to put fear aside and explore the country. I'm glad we did, because Amman has got a lot to offer!! It is a historic city, of great importance to the region, and it's a bit of a shining beacon! In the area, Jordan is doing significantly better than many of it's neighbor countries, so they're role models.

Amman has a large Syrian population, because Jordan took in hundreds of thousands of refugees a few years ago. This has created a bit of tension in the city, but also a noticeable contrast between classes.

Our experience in the country was gnarly to say the least!

I hope you guys enjoy this vlog.
