Fluid/Flow Painting & Marble Effects

in dtube •  6 years ago

In this video, Dot walks us through the process of fluid painting or flow painting using acrylics and the ingredients needed to create this effect, plus marbling tiles and objects by dipping the objects into ionised /ionized water with special acrylic paint floating on the surface of the water.

Special thank you to Dot and Gina for demonstrating the process of flow/fluid/pour painting and marble effects! :)

Thank you to the crew at Millbrook Arts & Crafts Group! :)

I have seen this type of effect before but never knew how it was achieved. I don't know if I will ever use it, but you just never know. I did struggle loading the video and have had to reload it a few times. I got there in the end though.

I hope you get to give it a go sometime, cryptoandcoffee. :)

Well firstly, congratulations on the @curie upvote here; I see a lot of video-specific posts are getting them @curie upvotes, so that's good for diversity of content. Anywho, the accredation is given where needed and the equipment used is also marked as well. Also I like the little blurb summary below, nothing fancy and that's a good thing that it doesn't go overboard in what the video is. Both for the actual content spoilers and just being what it is for what it is. Anyways, let's get going!

The Video: So obviously you're doing what yah said in the text below, so nothing wrong and it should be stated. Also I just realized the Dtube sticker and am no more shocked that it got me here. What I am shocked is that DTube is still kicking even though popularity did kind of waiver, eh who knows. Regardless, the voice-capturing and film quality seems sharp and fine like I was there and hearing/listening to them as I saw them make fluid paintings (with marble-esque effects). Really cool this subject, especially when we get into hot topics of like abstract and expressionist arts - along with contemporary paintings. Also the things present and the passion they exude is just very lovely and fun as they would say.

The actual guide: since I never made one and with all the precautions they give, I am willing to trust and cite them. They list their materials and go a little bit of making clear of the uniqueness of each piece, so that should be clear for anybody - even those barely paying attention. Also the things they do before the painting and then discussing the motions of just committing to it is just interesting and a bit much. Yet with the people in the workshop / art stuido, it must be a very fun (okay I am a broken record at this point) and they really are wholesome despite a few, few, obscenities they do emit... To be honest, wish there were more artist collectives like this, be very useful to youth and adults getting into art and artistry in general.

So keep on highlighting tutorials and happy steeming!

Thank you curie! :)

I've seen similar tiles and paintings created with this technique but I've never seen the whole process from start to beginning. So this video is definitely educational for me. The background noise is a bit loud but I was able to hear what's important.
This kind of art looks like a lot of fun and it permits you to create basically any pattern you want. I like it.

Thank you erikah! Glad you got something from the video! :)
