When you are driving down the IC in Korea, and you spot a sign that says "Hanu Beef Festival," you absolutely must investigate. Hanu beef is some of the best in the world. And the thought of an entire festival dedicated to the delicious steak had us incredibly excited.
We pulled over to explore, despite eating Hanu beef the night before. And we are so glad we did. The festival was massive! We even got to see some prize-winning cows, and play lots of beef-centered games.
Despite having some plans to have dinner at an old favorite place of ours, we couldn't resist trying some of the Hanu beef. We settled for a nice plate of 한우육회(Hanu Yukhoe), or raw beef.
This 육회 was packed with flavor. It was sweet from pear juice and garlicky from the oil. Yet, the wonderful flavor of the beef came through as well.
