I love Canva! I've been using it for almost 2 years, more for graphics for my FB and website. I just joined DTube this week, and will be uploading my first video in the next day or so...I actually had to look up what a "Thumbnail" is...and now I know :)
Canva is super simple to use, it's FREE, and it's a wonderfully creative way to make your posts unique!

Well to be honest Thumbnail have been an issue for me for quite some time and it did gave a lot of pain lol but as of now I do use Windows 10 default image editor for my Thumbnail and it has been going great for me while will check out the suggestion of yours as well.
