Hi DTube family.
We all have seen what was going on in the last days. Steemit.Inc is pulling back delegations from DApps like dsound or musing.
What would happen if @dtube will loose the ~ 2 Mio SP delegation?
Well, in my opinion, this worst-case scenario should be considered as these delegations are never a safe pillow.
One option would be to get investors from outside investing in @dtube. For example with advertising video content.
Would you accept that? Find out my thoughts about it in the video.

I don't think that's really an option to be honest. We don't have the traffic for companies to justify advertising with us.
Also, I think it's pretty much now certain that the delegation will go, so enjoy it while it lasts people.
What I think should happen is for us to now stop thinking about DTube as a way to make money, but just another way of sharing our content for the love of it :)

I am afraid that dtube will be next. I hope not, but that’s what it’s looking like. Just hope there is a way to attract traffic and I don’t think adding advertising is. If I knew I’d be rich 😂

Pulling back delegation from Dtube will affect many user who have started to share their content on regular basis....anyway advertising is not way, but even YouTube use advertising...you never know what next

Eh, the whole point of a decentralized video service is no ads needed. I think with services where the users are hosting the video it should be up to the creators to find their own sponsors, even if they sign up to a services that somehow inserts advertisements into their videos that is from outside of the service. The whole problem with the adpocalypse on youtube is the ads are too generic and both the advertisers and the creators don't have enough say in what is happening. With TV the companies know what programs their ads are put along side but with on demand they have no such insurance. What Google is doing is trying to apply an old system to a new system and expects it to work seamlessly which it will never get to work. If they keep on this course they'll just need to get rid of independent creators and only allow select companies along with a few creators to be allowed post videos. I really think the service that will replace youtube will be 100% decentralized and once it gains a little bit of traction companies like the Dollar Shave Club and VPN services will seek out creators on these platforms and sponsor them directly like they do right now on youtube. If Ford wants to advertise on a decentralized video service they need to get in touch with the creators directly. This would be 100% fair, sure, whoever Ford is sponsoring is making bank but the little guy that has a small VPN sponsor won't be pushed out by the video service allowing the Ford sponsoree on it's trending page but not the creator sponsored by the VPN service. Both creators get paid for better content on an equal playing field. Better creators will get better sponsors and such.

Thats an interesting topic buddy! for the sustainability the dapps really should find out an autarkic business model. it would not bother me, ok those must watch ads before the video are annoying but a banner on the side of a video would be ok in my opinion. because in the end this will be distributed, at least a fraction of it, to content creators as well. great vid
