Last week, we went to get our Raw Milk at the Dairy in Brighton, CO, and we checked the bees. K thought the hives were strong enough to actually no longer need guards at the door...so he just picked up a piece of metal post off the ground and removed the door guards. The bees seem very happy to just be able to go in and out without finding the tiny openings. However we did wonder if water could get in, so next time we go, we are going to wedge up the back slightly so that water will run out. We are having a so much rain this spring gratefully!
