I don't think it's that easy. It's not like the executive had a lot of room for descision here and ignoring international treaties is not something I would want to be taken lightly. Plus there are many open questions like why wasn't he arrested in Finnland or Denmark? Why did the Spanish government revoke the first request for extradition when Puigdemont stayed in Belglium?
Here are two interesting analysis of the case which I encurage you to watch (sorry only available in German):
All in all I just want to say that this is not a black or white type of question and I hope that the principle of dual criminality (Grundsatz der beiderseitigen Strafbarkeit) will be interpreted in the narrowest way possible which could lead to the assumption that Puigdemont will only be extradited for the allegation of embezzlement if at all.
Great, your opinion from outside, guess you live in Germany. So believe what you read and hear in the media. I live here in Barcelona with a Catalan Family, with inside in the Catalan-Spain problem that goes far back then just half a year when all the European media jumped on it. One more thing @joeblue Why do you flag my post and downgrade it? Just because you don't like my opinion? Well, you are a newbie, just like me... but I understood already that people like you will not make it that long here on Steemit, posting nothing by themselves but flagging other. We have seen before that this is not well seen here in our community. Looking forward to some content from you, lets see if I share your point of view or not!?

Hi @hauptmann, Thank you for taking the time to respond. Unfortunately, it seems I haven't been able to get my point across to you. I started and ended by pointing out that I feel things like this case are not always black or white wanting to say that they shoud be approached with care because it is way to easy to provoke reactions that might have real life consequences. My downvote had nothing to do with your opinion. In fact, we might share the same opinion on the broader topic. We defenitaly do when it comes to free speach. But when someone responds to (politically sensitive) news events I define good content as content that adheres to basic journalistic principles like clearly differentiating your own opinion, precieved facts and actual facts and putting in effort to stay as objective as possible. It is my opinion that you did not do this and therefore I felt that the reward is not justified. To downvote is just as legitimate as to upvote. I try to vote based on my perception of the content quality although I am sure that I too fail to be impartial from time to time. Btw. comments are also considered content (in fact they count as posts). Evaluating viewer's contributions is what curator rewards are for and you are free to downvote my comments (hopefully due to quality rather than opinion). That's why I put in effort like researching information when I respond to content ... Have a good one.

I just wanna make sure you understand the system of Steemit @joeblue it is NOT like Youtube where just like or dislike content. With a like here on Steemit or Dtube you reward the creator with some Steem, same way around, when you dislike, it will reduce the value of the content. Watch some tutorials from @exyle or @joeparys they explain it very understandable. You are welcome.

Thank you, having read the whitepaper I do understand the differences and just because I am a new user on the platform doesn't mean that I haven't been using the platform for quite some time. Maybe I was just hesitant because of privacy issues, the right to be forgotten (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Right_to_be_forgotten) or because I don't fully agree with some of the implementations (payout time cap) but thank you anyway for suggesting great content to new users.
PS: Unfortunately, I think that with rising popularity steemit will become more and more like youtube ... Systems are not what they should be but what people make of it and, especially with dtube looking like youtube, converters will start smashing that downvote button sooner or later just because they don't like you :(
