Josh Sigurdson reports on the recent imprisonment of a man in Nashville, Tennessee who rented his own home out through Airbnb for paying guests without a permit.
Layton Jones listed his northwest Nashville home on Airbnb without a permit which apparently people are being forced to have despite them owning their property...allegedly.
After a judge sentenced Jones to two days in jail, he appealed the case. Well, he was jailed for three more days by another judge. He is appealing again.
This is such a blatant example of how people no longer have any property rights. What ever happened to life, liberty and property? Then you pay property taxes which is one of the reasons that hotels got so terrible and so expensive which lead to Airbnb in the first place.
If an individual owns property, who is anyone else to say they cannot bring other people on their property in exchange for a voluntary payment? And who is anyone to enforce such a ridiculous, coercive action? Why are people complacent with this incredibly crooked system?
In this report, we break down the absurdity of this government overreach and the true nature of this entity we call the state.

Your Home is not yours Josh if you have it registered at the "Land Registry Office".
Register anything with the Government and it becomes theirs, YOU the Owner just get Right of Usage.
That goes for Parenting to.. Register a Birth for a Birth Certificate, State becomes owner of your child. You now have only the responsibility of raising that child the way they tell you. Or in comes "CPS child protective services" and snatch your child from your arms with the use of armed police officers..

You register land so people can’t just move in and claim it’s theirs. Without registration how could you tell a squatter from an owner?

That’s not how it works. Registration is so that a governing body can assertain who owns a property and in the event of a conflict rule on who owns said property. If there was no log of who owned what you run into multiple issues of he said she said cases that are unsolvable.

As long as he’s not portraying his vacation rental as a hotel there shouldn’t be a problem. With AirBnb there is an inherent risk of a bad experience, while with a hotel things are more regulated and there is a lower probability of a bad experience.
