Welcome back to another installment of the Steem Book Series. In this series, I am interviewing members of the Steem community to get a better understanding of Steem and Steemit. From that better understanding, I will be able to publish a more well-rounded book that readers will enjoy.

The book that I am writing is called Steem: The Blockchain of Opportunity, focused on entrepreneurship within the Steem ecosystem. The outline is already in place and I am filling in the details with my personal experience on the platform, as well as other member's journeys throughout their tenure on Steem and in the blockchain space in general.

Today is part 2 of 2 with special guest @andrarchy talking about the future of the Steem blockchain. Andrarchy is on staff at Steemit Inc. the Head of Communications and Advocacy. If you haven't seen part 1 where he discusses the history of Steem and Steemit, go here to view that now.

A lot of the information discussed today is not common knowledge and it was really interesting to hear the insights and wisdom from Andrarchy himself. He mentions cool terms such as smart contracts, hard consensus, soft consensus, and more. Please pay close attention to what he has to say as it may get you fired up to take action!

Community members I would like to interview next...

@timcliff

@theycallmedan

@yabapmatt

@exyle

@therealwolf

and many more!

If you are a Steem community member and would like to be interviewed by me and you think you can add valuable insight to the book I am writing, please comment below or find me on Telegram at https://t.me/kenmelendez

You are very welcome @maxdevalue. Lots of great things happening on this blockchain so keep your eyes peeled for updates.

Greetings, @kenmelendez.
I think I have to watch this and previous videos a couple of times. Some concepts still too abstract for me, even though I have to recognize that @andrarchy did a wonderful job explaining and restating the key concepts.
It's funny that he talks about long-term when he means a year or two. Time is definitely relative in the blockchain. I am glad though that solution to current issues can be provided in that period of time.
Looking forward to your other interviews. Great list. Hope you get them all

Haha that's a great point! I think when you're dealing with new technologies you really don't want to be thinking much farther ahead than a couple of years because the reality is that most new technologies die. It's basically an extension of the Lindy Effect. Something is only likely to survive as long as it has been alive. So if you've been around for 3 years, it makes sense to look 3 years ahead. I think a lot of projects in the space are making the mistake of thinking 10 years into the future when they haven't even launched a mainnet yet. And then people are surprised when most blockchain projects fail. Of course, everyone on the team thinks about where we'll be 10 years from now, but we can't let that influence our short term decision-making too much.

This is fascinating. Thanks for the follow up.

I just cant seem to get this video to play through! I have now tried at different times of the day. Bummer, do you have a (this saddens me to say) Youtube link?

Hi @zainenn. Yes, here it is

Your video is way too large for poor souls like me who have shitty internet connection. You should also upload lower resolution versions.

I added at YT version as well.

Thanks. I pinned it on my IPFS node too and I could play it nicely from my gateway.

There's not enough DRAMA to go around.

To view or trade DRAMA go to steem-engine.com.

Great to see how the roadmap continues to adapt to the use and feedback of the community and the developers building it out. Truly a great inspiration to those seeking to add value here over time!
