Vector Dancing [experimental animation + audio]

in dtube •  7 years ago  (edited)

This is a piece I build. The audio is a part from a tune off my 4th solo LP. The visuals are a vectorscope feed which reads the audio data's stereo imaging profile.

Very interesting @littlezebra cool name by the way. I am very interested in visuals with sound. Thanks for sharing this cool sound and visual feedback. vectorscope feed is a new term to me. Can you explain how it works?

Thank you!! Yes!

"A vectorscope is a type of oscilloscope used in both audio and video applications. Whereas an oscilloscope or waveform monitor normally displays a plot of signal vs. time, a vectorscope displays an X-Y plot of two signals, which can reveal details about the relationship between these two signals."

One of my favorite things is to use these with sine waves split L and R. Then, you can tune the sinewaves to the true just intonation and watch the beautiful natural curves/ratios our universe gives us in the overtone series.

wow this sounds really interesting as a way to visualize sound. It would be really cool to see it in 3d to see how the forms looked.
