Research studies have shown that people who adopt a spiritual practice will have lower levels of stress and health related issues. Please do not confuse spirituality with religion. You do not have to adopt a religion to become spiritual.
If you do belong to a religion though, it would great to use spirituality to connect yourself closer to your higher power. If you are a spiritual person you should pick it up a notch by incorporating spiritual practices every day.
Whatever your spiritual choice is, it will help your overall health. If you are not a spiritual person you should consider reading some books that talk about spirituality, meditate, or do some yoga. Meditation is a great way to connect with yourself and has been used for thousands of years as a spiritual practice.
