    It is crazy to think that human beings to have allegiances and agendas. It is equally crazy to think the people with influence will not push for whatever outcomes they desire.

    To think a political party is not acting behind the scenes means you think political parties do not act in their best interests. Which they do.

    One could hope to get someone in office who could act on behalf of the people who elected him or her. Pie in the sky, I guess.
