The Dollar Will Not Disappear But it Will Be Less Relevant.

In this report, on Sunday, March 3rd, 2019 I look at the history of sterling or the British pound in the last century and why it is an important exercise if we want to understand what could happen to the dollar in the future.

I look at an interesting article Steven Guinness, https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2019-03-02/could-brexit-trigger-demise-sterling-reserve-currency-part-one, about the history of the decline of sterling and it is interesting to note that the British currency is still a reserve currency albeit not as important as it used to be as in 1947 it made up 80% of world foreign reserves and presently it only makes up around 4.5%.

The dollar, in my opinion, will follow the same course of sterling as the U.S.'s foreign debts continue to increase with no end in sight and also as more and more countries try to find alternatives to the greenback as the U.S. government continues to use the dollar's status and wide use in order to punish other nations.

My conclusion is that the dollar much like sterling will not disappear but just kind of fade away from the limelight.
