It used to be common "wisdom" in the olden days of the internet that making money online with Google AdSense was the best monetization models. This applied to any content-based websites and has long been the general view of most bloggers, website owners, and online content creators. I used to write and publish a lot of Blog posts myself, but in order to earn money with an AdSense-enabled website, you need traffic. Lots of traffic to make those measly AdSense pennies count, at all.
Then Steemit came around, bringing in its very own concept. A totally different one. A radically reformed one, ready for a re-decentralized internet that we all need -- no more than ever.
With AdSense, you were at the mercy of Google -- seriously, is that what you want to be?!? -- because they can block your account for many reasons, or no reason at all. In any case your hard-earned money will be frozen or gone altogether. People have had this happening all the time, even when they did notdo anything wrong. Google can pull the plug just when some Google "security" script believes you did something wrong, even if you didn't but just had a somewhat unusual occurence of IP number when accessing the site or similar. It might also happen because of your content, even more so in the future with increasing censorship against alternative media or 'controversial views'.
Steemit, on the other hand, gives a lot of the flexibility back to content writers. Even simple introduceyourself Posts have been getting $250 or more for many freshman Steemians. So, clearly, Steemians do appreciate good quality-content. Even for total noobs, Steemit clearly has to offer a lot. This decentralized Application (or Dapp) levels the playing field in so many ways over what we have grown used to with its centralized counterparts and their mechanisms for content monetization.
And this is just the beginning: with D.Tube, the video counterpart for decentralized Steemit content, a blockchain-based version of YouTube is currently emerging where the user, or what used to be called 'the youtuber' (now rather D.Tuber) controls his or her monetization aspects all by themselves. We all know that Steemit is already great, but with additions like D. Tube and the emergence of an entire eco-system of dencentrally monetizable content, blockchain-based and censorship-resistant content creation, no matter the content type, will be truly unstoppable.
Steemit is the number one platform ....Im so happy for this platform and it has a lot of potential ....

absolutely -- and by adding today's 'killer app' Video to the 'combo' of Steemit and D.Tube, it can only get even better: Moon! :)

good points, you're spot-on. Very much looking forward to being a part of this de-centralised future of the internet. D.Tube and Steemit are great Dapps, indeed.
