Hello DTube and Steemians!
In this episode of In the Kitchen with Matt I will show you how to make Buttermilk. This easy homemade buttermilk substitute recipe is perfect to use with pancakes, cupcakes, breads, etc. if you can't find buttermilk, or it is not available in your country, or you just don't want to go to the store to get some. Why use buttermilk in baking? The slightly acidic batter helps the baked goods be more moist and tender by breaking down the gluten. Super simple to make if I can do it, you can do it. Let's get started!
Ingredients:
1 cup milk (whole milk, 2%, 1%, etc.) (250ml)
1 to 2 Tbsp. of lemon juice or white vinegar (15 to 30ml)
