I wish you the very best, man. It's a great idea and one you're in quite a good position already to attempt. Will be watching to see how you fair. Which I obviously hope is exceptionally well...
As always I appreciate you riding with me just like when you reached out to me a few months ago. I will definitely keep you up to date on what it happening in SE Asia once I arrive.
The Philippines has a pretty low cost of living so it is possible to live of Steem in the Philippines. I think that with the increasing number of people joining Steemit it would be very difficult to attract new eyeballs because you start to get lost in the crowd. Good luck with your experiment.
I somewhat agree with your assessment as I could get lost in the crowd, but that is the fun part of the experiment to see if I can overcome that obstacle.
I totally agree with you that a person should have more than 1 income which I do. I'm not hurting for money, but I'm curious if I can just support myself off of Steemit alone without having to touch my other streams.
Interesting plan mate, hope it all goes well, something I have considered doing for a few years now just haven't been able to commit. Just got back from holiday in Thailand, it's an amazing place, been there about 5 times and have a Thai girlfriend.
I wouldn't worry too much about the whole visa thing in Thailand, if you are located somewhere near a border you can just cross into the country for 30 mins and come straight back in. I have friends doing that now some will do day trips some will just get the stamp in the passports and back into TL. Chiang Mai is awesome and one of my favourites so definitely check that out.
The main thing, I suppose, is working out what sort of lifestyle you want to lead. You can easily live off 600us a month but you will need to make a few sacrifices (nothing major) in terms of where you live and eat.
That is great that you have been to Thailand 5 times so you should definitely know your way around. I have to ask what part of Thailand do you like best. I know a lot of people love Chiang Mai as you have mentioned, but I also know that it is starting to get more crowded now as well especially around this time of the year?
I have a feeling that even if I live in the Philippines that I will still visit Thailand frequently. I far as income it is not an issue but I'm curious if I can elevate my Steemit income to be able to make it solely on that alone without having to touch anything else.
I heard from many people that you can live like royalty with the American dollar in the Philippines, with their low cost of living. IMO, it is very possible to live off of earnings from Steem, with a strong, solid game plan and budgeting. Maybe, I'll consider moving there one day, after I get some things straightened out. As to what you were saying about content, I agree. As the late, great artist formerly known as Prince once said, "Content is king". I would add to this, that consistency and dedication are almost as important.
Well if you ever decide to move to the Philippines please feel free to reach out to me. However, you can live pretty good on US income converted to Philippine Peso, but not everything in the Philippines is cheap. I look forward to the challenge and will keep you posted on the progress.
Hi @mrwalt, Content is king. I found value in your posts. However, people like textual content more than videos at Steemit, may be that's the reason. Anyway, keep posting as you're helping many. Good luck! Resteemed.
Once I get overseas I will definitely add the text to each post and attempt to brand myself more. However, I glad that you have found value in my posts and I thank you for resteeming as well.
I wish you lucky in your challenge man. That's really the dream for a lot of the people here and I believe many have made it a reality. Good luck, I'll be watching in a few months when you go for it!

Once I learn my way around the Philippines I may consider the rural provinces, but until then I will be bouncing around Makati, BGC, and Cebu.

The more time you give something, the more value it gets. Its possible
But its not adviceable for one to have only one source of income

True. Multiple sources of income is the way to go. He did mention before that he has income streams from other businesses and ventures, though.

I appreciate you clarifying this, but a lot of people honestly do not take the time to watch the videos, lol! However, it is cool!

I dont think its impossible, if you have a steady line of upvotes from people that has higher amounts of STEEMPOWER. Which seems like you do.
In my case no I wont. The thought wont even come to mind xD
Lets see how you do
