[EP147] - Use exercise to curb anxiety!

in dtube •  6 years ago

Hi everyone!
Hope you're all well!

I've had a super stressful few days... and I've really noticed a huge difference in my coping abilities and clear headedness between days that I've been able to run it out, and when I haven't. I've even noticed a big difference in the type of exercise and the effect it had on my stress levels.

When things get super stressful, I get into this kind of frenetic state... my movements are sharp and choppy, my thoughts are erratic and quick and the slightest delay in anything becomes super irritating. If I spend too long in this state then I get headaches, I'm jumpy and sleep... no chance!

Doing a slow, measured workout just doesn't work for me when I get this stressed... it's got to be a run, or sprints or burpees. Anything explosive and exhaustive. Once exercised, everything becomes a lot more achievable and my ability to cope grows exponentially. I'm honestly thinking of getting a big punching bag for these moments... it's got to be one I can kick too.

If you're feeling stressed or anxious. Try going for a run. Think about my mood/energy before and after you go... I'm sure you can find the perfect exercise to calm you down.

Thanks for watching!
