THINKING OUT LOUD: CONFUSION

in dtube •  6 years ago

This awful state of confusion hascharacterizedd my recent experience on the steem blockchain. Coupled with the fact that there is so much going on and I can't seem to pay attention to one. The negative effect of wanting to do everything simultaneously. I'm probably good at multitasking but I'm certain it was one of the leading cause of my illness. Wel,l I hope I find my way back to doing the things I love effectively.

By the way, I did this recording before the video I posted yesterday.

I don't know... I might be completely wrong in what I'm about to say but sometimes a problem shared is a problem halved and all that jazz.

I think it's natural to have ebbs and flows in momentum and inspiration on steem. God knows its happened to me more than once. In late 2017 I was working 3 different roles in discord communities while being very active with curie and writing a posts pretty much every day. All in all I was doing 40-60 hours/week on steem and I burned out big time to the point where it made my chronic illness much worse.

My point is that I was trying to keep up with expectations that I perceived others might have of me rather than living up to my own expectations of what I knew I could do well. Possibly you've been putting too much pressure on yourself m8? It is completely understandable when you've been ill that you've had to reduce frequency/intensity of content on steem & Twitter. Also, I wanna reassure you that the spark of inspiration always comes back when you work on it. I think your idea of getting out to your favourite places to chill is a great one as this will revitalise your mind in regards to ideas for content etc. And filming outside also is a good call.

My final piece of advice is in reference to something my oldest friend on the Blockchain said to me during that time I was overworking myself and feeling the stress big time. He said: "make sure it's fun. If you're not having fun why are you doing those things." He was referring to all the community work I was doing on discord, but it could apply equally to hustle or content. I think finding pace and inspiration is the key and I'm 100% confident you'll find yours in no time Nonso.

All the best, and don't beat yourself up. I hope you're feeling better 🙂

I appreciate your kind words. I was thinking this morning 'maybe the delegation is putting some pressure on me'. I don't think it's Nath's intention but maybe it is a factor. Will do my best. Haven't fully recovered so I'm guessing that's a factor too. Will try my best to have some fun because I really don't like faking things. It's easier when I'm passion driven.

No problems mate. Kindness is food for the soul that we can provide to each other on steem easily and with no cost.

Get well soon mate and you'll be back to finding that passion easily in no time :)

Sometimes the mind heals slower than the body but rest is always good. I think trying new environments will also help you get the momentum back as I remember when you started the vlogs it was a challenge for you as well. Look forward to the experiences you share my friend!
