Since the War started in 2014 the Donetsk airport has been fought over. In early 2015 when DPR forces gained control of the airport It became a simbal of victory for the residents of the "rebel" Donetsk People's Republic. Still almost everyday there is fighting near it.

When that airport was built it was so beautiful and modern. Jobs for the locals, and tourists bringing money into the local economy. Now look at it.
