There is a warp zone at the end there. I think you can warp to levels 2, 3 and 4. If I'm not mistaken.

      Right before you get to the end of 1-2 with the ladders, use it to go to the top. You then walk past the pipes and in the warp zones. The levels do get a little harder as you go.
