The emergence of the Pug breed.
For the first time the pug appeared in China. The history of the animal is long, the first mention of the pug comes at the time of the reign of the ancient emperors of China. The breed has gained popularity recently. Today it is often possible to meet pugs and their masters at exhibitions.
There are many Chinese ancient manuscripts, which describe dogs with a flat muzzle and bulging eyes. In ancient times in China lived two varieties of dogs, more like Pekingese. The first had a thick and long coat, the latter were considered to possess a shorter wool cover. These representatives are considered the ancestors of pugs.
Animal breeds were kept exclusively in a wealthy family belonging to the nobility. Dogs of the breed of those times slightly differed in appearance from today's tribesmen. They did not have pronounced wrinkles, but the original folds on their foreheads resembling hieroglyphs were clearly visible.
A little later the dogs appeared in France, exclusively thanks to the Turkish fleet. Then the representatives of the breed became popular in the Netherlands, because the color of dog hair is similar to the colors of the house of the family of the Orange, the ruling dynasty of those times. From the Netherlands pugs have got to England.
Once the Pug dogs almost disappeared. Renewal helped the case. Queen Victoria wished to have a dog like that. For Her Majesty, with great difficulty, they found the only representative of the breed, and the subjects had to travel well in order to find at least one specimen. After 20 years there was a club that united fans of the breed. Thanks to the members of the club the breed survived. Subsequently, it began to improve, and acquired the present form.
Very interesting was the mention that the breed's dogs at the imperial palace played the role of hunting. Faced with the information described, the experts were surprised. However, in the following description, it was found that specially trained eunuchs were brought to the Emperor's hunting place by pugs. The characteristics of the breed are not shaken.
