VLog #5 - Steem and SBD Price Increase Good or Bad For Steemit?

in dtube •  7 years ago  (edited)

In this video I am going to be talking about the increase in value of Steem and Steem Dollers over the past few weeks. Do you think the price of Steemit and SBD going up is a good thing or bad thing for Steemit both the long run and short turn.

You are asking a strange question. Of course it's good for the price to go up. Will it attract more people that will try to milk the reward pool with not so good content? Yes it will, it will also attract does that make good contributions to the ecosystem.

When the steem currencies doesn't increase steem will get trouble with the inflation because of the payouts as far as I know. Steem Dollar was intended to be stable, but the higher steem goes the better for steemit and us. That's the thing I am not sure about, if it is such a good thing participate a currency which is dependend of permanent growth like the fiats.

You can't have a cheap STEEM price when the network is growing like crazy and the amount of STEEM locked into Steem Power is only increasing. ICOs that utilize the upcoming SMT protocol will only add to the scarcity of Cheep STEEM. @appics ICO is due to begin in the next few weeks. That alone might raise the price a buck or two.

I have been buying STEEM everyday for 5 months and will continue to do so throughout the rest of 2018. This boom is just getting started!

So much to drive the STEEM price higher.

Read page 56 and 57 of the SMT Whitepaper.

thanx mate for the info i will hold my steem i earnd for 3 months now for long , i want to work on this platfor for next 10 years ,,

Thanks for the reference robert, I'll check it out for sure!

The rise of the price certainly provides the opportunity for the for the whole platform to expand, alongside with its users. But of course, whatever expands needs to contract to regain power to expand again, and that is something we should be aware of.

This is a very good point and I agree. It looks like Steemit is exploding at the moment though but like someone mentioned before only a small percentage of people actually stick around.

"Only a small percentage of people actually stick around" - Very true, it is human nature. We can get bored quickly and run off to seek something new elsewhere. Only those who stick around long enough get to see the full picture.

It is good if steem and steem$ go up :) Soon wee see both them up 10 or 11$...
but the problem is this, new people do not get the exchange pages.

Yah, anyone whos been on the platform for any length of time is getting a huge reward for doing so :p

I hope ... soon you get too :)
