I took one of these apart not to long ago, and it was massive. About 12 feet tall and all its supplies and controls had a footprint about 12" x 24". The beast had two cranes, one for getting into the column and another for the 400kV High Tension tank. Took a week for 2 guys to disassemble it. This section in particular is the stage area. I am think about making a more detailed post on the beast, since it was such a thing to behold and I am sure some people would like to see it!

The user section, that lead glass on the viewing chamber (covered by a round black plastic disc) was about 2 inches thick
Right side view, you can see the multiple getter pumps and the mess of plumbing and wires
Looking from the front towards the back. The white section is the optics column, and behind it sits the 400kV tank on a hanging rail system. You can see where the tank is connected to the gun up top
This thing sat idle for years before I came and tore it apart.
