I use SteemWriter for writing posts on my computer.
It lets you save drafts and preview the markdown you have written.

You need to copy and paste to Steemit when your done.

SteemWhales is currently not up-to-date unfortunately (ping @heimindanger ;-) ) but I is a very good source of information.
esteem can be found on google play store and apple app store. As far as I know Stemify is only available on Apple smartphones at the moment => also on the App Store.
