A sunny winter walk in the Stormpolder flood forest

Today we went hiking in a piece of beautiful nature near home.

The Stormpolder flood forest

This forest is not very large and unknown to the local population. That's why we wanted to walk there.

Because after a long time it was finally a sunny day, all people suddenly walk outside.

They always search for a place they know. The investigative genes have often been lost in humanity over the centuries.

No man in sight

In this forest nature has been left undisturbed. All urban sounds are absent and you can relax here.

About this forest

To get to this forest you first have to drive through an industrial estate. I have to admit that this is not the most inviting ride.

Once you have arrived at a dike, the beginning of this walking area, you will see a backdrop of creeks and reeds.

It is not a large flood forest, 9 hectares.

It is a beautiful destination for a walk around wet nature. The water swirls under your feet as you enter the area. The entire forest can be flooded together with the paths. This is what you call wet nature.

We were not very well prepared with our "modern" shoes. The next time we take boots.
