Those of you who follow me will know that I am a dreamer & those of you who have met me will know that I don't sleep much!

"To sleep, perchance to dream" William Shakespeare

Back in London I was very much 'part of the machine' until around 2012 the fabled year of awakening.

This short film represents one of my first tests with my home made motion control time-lapse kit before heading out to Africa where I took it for its first real test run: a trip which set the ball in motion towards a life on the road.

The shot was created in my bedroom and spans a two hour period in which the light of a new day was appearing.

And little did I know at that time, but it was an important new dawn too.

I love the way the sun shines on the houses in the background as they are cloaked in light, stunning.... One of your first 'tests'... So modest :)

I'm a complete camera novice currently learning how to best capture the sunrise, I have a great view of it, it's a deeper rabbit hole than I initially thought.

It sure is my friend. Have you tried HDR photography? In my experience this is the best way to capture stunning sunrise/sunsets...

No I am yet to explore HDR, thanks for the tips, I'll certainly be back for more
