I cover most, but not all the aspects of the blog in a 24-minute video on blockchain technology, otherwise you can read this article with some screenshots reviewing the platform Publish0x.
Youtube Alternative:
Publish0x is a blockchain platform that compares closely to the likes of Steemit where you are earning money for every “like” and you can withdraw it with ease. Your amount of money earned will reflect highly your post is ranked and determine if it’s trending. A few things that make it very different from Steem are: they didn’t have an ICO and are crypto agnostic, you tip other users and can earn for tipping, and there is currently no staking aspect meaning all votes have equal weighting. To break these down and explain a little more, I will talk on each a bit further.
Being crypto-agnostic means they don’t have their own coin, they have new sponsors joining periodically, and donate coins to users tipping. This has major upside in that the interest in the platform won’t rely on the value of the coin as we see on Steem for example, about half the active community fell off after it’s coined value went from over $10 to about $1 and now at around $0.47 shown below in the graph.
Not having an ICO goes hand in hand with that given they don’t have a coin which again means they can’t scam anyone like many ICOs did in 2017-2018 or how they have traditionally grossly misused their funds for marketing and otherwise. When companies are successful without ICOs, it shows their sustainability and their confidence in their product.
The way the founder describes the vision for Publish0x was that they “wanted to create somewhere where people can provide value… then the other platforms, I don't really like that they are just locked to their native token, you can earn (insert coin), but there’s only 2 uses for it. 1. Sell it for BTC or ETH, or 2. Reuse it on the platform. It’s fair play to them, and a few are doing well, but I want to make a more open platform where we can showcase many other coins , tokens, their platforms and tech.
If an ETH-based token wants to run a promotional campaign on Steem, then they have to sell their token or their ETH which they care about and buy up Steem to get their content seen. Devaluing their own token and increasing the value of Steem. With our platform, we want it so that they can send in their token and distribute it to 1000s of readers while those readers learn about their project, even putting up bounties for reviews and content to be created. We hope that people will learn about some interesting projects and decide to keep some of the tokens they earn and get involved in these projects.”
That’s an awesome vision! He also gave me some insider updates that are to come. The most exciting I’m anticipating are: better commenting and notifications, the bountied content system, multiple tokens being added, set token blogs, and they may introduce basic staking. They want to be the go-to place for bounty post publishing, creators, and quality content consumers. Let’s briefly dive into some of these updates that are a little more complex and may be a bit confusing for someone completely new to this, but jam packed with great updates that a more seasoned blockchain social user will really appreciate. Better notifications is pretty straightforward and a needed update. The bountied content system will allow you to write articles etc., as per the bounty host’s guidelines and earn a bounty accordingly. This will be a more content publishing focus version of bounties that you don’t have as much on Bounty0x for example. Adding more tokens to the platform will bring in more sponsors and allow you to diversify your earnings across more coins. Token blogs are explained below by one of their staff to me when I asked about it as well as the tipping structure. Lastly, staking is a big deal because it’s what makes it so different from Steem. On Publish0x they only want to have basic staking, so you don’t have massive influence over others like on Steem, but rather like a $10 investment to legitimize a person and tell them apart from spammers. To reward users for investing a bit this may also extend to offer them more rewards for staking, allow you to compete for bountied articles, and get post features. They have a lot in the works to say the least.
Publish0x is different from Steem in the way that curators earn money. On Steem, based on your staked Steem you can give out a certain vote. When you upvote something and it becomes popular you will earn a curation reward based on your upvote. The issue was that if you had little to no Steem then it was negligible. On Publish0x, you can decide how much crypto you will receive as a curator right from the get-go. You can also decide to donate everything to the author. This way you can more accurately gauge the value of your time and the author’s efforts. To go along with this you can only tip every once every ten minutes and once a day per author. Also, the way tipping works as explained to me by one of the staff and I question this in the video so this is the answer:
- A "big" tip, that is HYDRO right now; The big tip is intended to be given out by the sponsor of the month. - A "smaller" tip, which will probably be BNTY indefinitely - we might change this in the future though. - Any token can open up an official blog, and pay out tips in their own token just on their blog. :) So for example BAT could have their own blog on Publish0x, and pay out tips on their blog in BAT, while on the rest of the site it would be tips in another token. This is still not implemented, but we have most of the coding work done for it to work. - A similar thing we might implement is to have tokens sponsor specific categories. SPANK might sponsor the "NSFW" category, where tips in that category would be in SPANK.”
Lastly, they have sponsors that donate coins you will receive, and they may change creating more incentive to be active during their main sponsor period to earn the exclusive token to diversify or trade them. They are the first platform to let you earn many different cryptocurrencies for your content in one place. Right now, I’ve earned BNTY and HYDRO on their platform.
Something they also do differently is you can have multiple blogs for all your different topics to stay really organized and on topic for different audiences which is nice for people who talk on many topics or want to be able to branch out without annoying their current audience with irrelevant content.
It has a nice clean appearance very similar to Steemit, but more simplified and cleaner. The post functionality operates very similarly though you don’t need to understand HTML5, you can use their easy to use toolbar to blog like you would with any traditional blog setup.
I think there is a lot of potential here and I think getting in on it early will yield a lot of benefits to those who try it out. Considering I’ve earned like $17 already, I’m intrigued and impressed. I’m trying to use it more often too as it slowly becomes one of the top major platforms. I have been briefly talking with the CEO and they have some cool ideas and stuff in the works. The only issue I really had was that there was no way for me to see notifications unless using email notifications, but their higher-level staff assured me that was one of their priorities to add and update given that email notifications were just a fix given the platform is still very new. Also note that when you want to withdraw you must wait until the next Monday to receive your payout. At first, I was inconvenienced by this, but it was explained to me why and it makes sense. They do this because they don’t want to store these funds online as it’s the best way to secure crypto offline and avoiding any security issues associated with online storage. It’s also done for security so it’s easier to pinpoint bad actors and catch them in this review process. So, I’ve listed a few minor gripes because I want to be unbiased and because the staff are so receptive to feedback, but regardless, this platform really is amazing!
If you check out the images below, you’ll see how in the past week, month, and year, I was able to trend in the most popular posts and I’ve only been on the platform for about a month. Essentially this means that anyone can do well on this platform and get tons of awareness too.
This week’s most popular posts:
This month’s most popular posts:
This year’s most popular posts:
Also, not only is their staff a really nice bunch of people from my experience, but they are receptive to feedback as I’m finding the best platforms have been. Typically, you will find the best performing platforms are transparent and work with community feedback like Minds, Uptrennd, and Publish0x now. Steem has been suffering due to its lack of receptiveness to feedback comparatively. This is reflective of how platforms that empower the community tend to triumph by making community feedback a priority for user satisfaction. I’ll share some of the stats I have which just comes down to earnings and post views.
This gives you an idea of how much you can earn and what I’ve got so far.
Note that they change their major sponsor each month that is why I mostly have HYDRO tokens for the month of April.
This is a bit of a snapshot for an idea of a post by post breakdown of my last several posts:
Also, they have a cool Ambassador program aka their referrals. You earn 5% of all the tips claimed by the people who you invite which will add up over time given they use it the platform somewhat actively. You also get access to paid/bountied articles first and get free featured article placements which you cannot get otherwise as far as I know. Your settings are pretty straightforward, just set your picture, username, email, and about me with a 255 character limit.
You can search for posts via search, via tag keyword, and or just checking the new/popular posts. You can also then rank them by popularity or the date they were published. Above I’m comparing how my posts in the “bounty0x” tag was doing compared to other user posting about it and it was first when sorting by popularity.

Oh yeah, let's all connect there too on publish0x. Amazing platform for newbies who were not able to raise their reputation here on Steemit. You'll also have the chance to get acknowledged there.
My post also been in the popular page and it is a nice feeling to also get acknowledged.

Yeah and you earned 2$ of HYDRO which is pretty awesome. I think there is so much opportunity to earn here even as a newbie that just isn't possible on Steemit in its current form.

It sounds like an interesting platform. In addition to diversification, I like that it tells you how many views you actually got on an article or a post. I also like that you can create multiple blogs from one account, that are all connected to one account, so you can focus on different topics.
In a way, it's sort of like the cryptocurrency version of Medium. It'll be nice if their content focuses on more than just cryptocurrency and things like that.
When you create an account, do they create wallets and addresses of all the various currencies for you, or do you need to create those yourself and bring them with you?

When it comes to any sort of publishing, regardless of cryptocurrency, encouragement is one of the biggest factors. For instance, when people post on Twitter they don't get anything for their work, but all the views and interactions they get encourage them to keep creating more. I think that's where the benefit of having other analytics in addition to the crypto reward itself comes in.

Yeah for sure and they plan to really flesh it out, it's bare bones right now

So you get air drops instead of earning tokens it seems. Like EOS, ETH or NEO but without a token and just an airdrop.

In a sense, yes. It's like Steem or the ones you mentioned just the tokens will be different every time and people have equal vote weight. It is somewhat of an airdrop I guess eh

I have just checked ... check what they say ....
"Publish0x can delete your content without warning if you copy and paste ...."
That's total BS ... I copy and paste all the time + add original stuff ... does that mean that they will delete my posts and I will be wasting my time?

I'm very sure they just mean copyright. Like if you copy paste without sourcing. It also says other people's content. "Copy / pasting someone else's content"
"Embedding videos from Youtube and using CC0 content (publicly available images from pixabay.com for example) is OK."

You are right ... they approved my account and I will be posting soon there ... thank you for the video and reply ...
I just wish all these new platforms to focus on alternative video embeds ... it does not make sense to use a new platform and embed YT videos ... it is like dragging the new to the old ...
They should enable embeds from Bitchute, Dtube, etc ... even the not so popular ones ... alt embeds will certainly help everyone, literally!
