Seablue Journal: Playing with video editing and dtube

in dtube •  7 years ago

I've been playing around on some private WoW servers and reliving the experience of populated servers. As part of that reminiscing, I've been toying with the idea of recording and posting elements of that journey on dtube.

Today I used Simple Screen Recorder and Openshot, two open-source applications to create this simple gameplay video.

The joy for me in revisting Vanilla WoW is the huge number of players on this server. Vanilla WoW forced players to cooperate and communicate because it was so hard to get past some of the questing without doing so. People do interesting, clever and sometimes quite humorous things.

In addition to feeling out the methodology of video editing, it is also a way of testing the dtube frontend. I've had to make three attempts to upload some of the videos. Playback of the videos has been rather hit and miss. Early days. I'm hoping that they are putting their money to good use developing the capacity of this technology.

Is that Elysium? Looks quite populated :)
I had to give in to the temptation and joined the Nostalrius vanilla private server last year. Had to give it up though when I got the new job at the space agency and needed more time ^^

Got to gear up the rogue fairly well though! Realmplayer stats

Yes, it is Elysium.

I was on Nostalrius too, but of course, that didn't go too well. :-)

I'm playing on Warmane on the Lordaeron server as well. It is a high pop 1X experience WotlK server.

im in horde in elysium waiting you to come to our area :D

Aaaah yes WOW.

I played retail and even bought that $50 expansion. Played for a few days and quit. LOL
