I first made this video primarily for WARNING others about USB 3.0 cable and SATA - 6 Pin power cables and how they can potentially cause a fire. However upon further digging into why my mining system would not work, I noticed the patch for the Kernel Bug (Meltdown/Spectre) modified my registry. When it did, it removed my REGEDIT "HackFlags" used to help our multi-GPU systems run more the 3 GPU's at once. This is most commonly used on a mining motherboard called the Asrock h81 PRO BTC R2.0, and a lot of miners use the same motherboard. Once my system rebooted whether it was cause by Windows Updates, or the USB cable 3.0 melting, when I got back into the OS my third card wouldn't work.
I am not saying the Kernel Patch melted my USB 3.0 cable
It just affected my registry which in turn, cause my 3rd GPU to not work anymore, so I had to reapply it, but continuing on..
I swapped Videocards, Riser cards, USB and power adapters... Nothing worked, so I looked into the most recent update linked below. In the Windows patch (KB4056892) there is a registry edit made to add a REGKEY for some Anti-Viruses, when it did, somehow it removed my REGEDIT used to allow more then 3 GPU's.... How I have no idea, they are not even in the same table...See more on the patch below and let me know your thoughts. But BECAREFUL with your USB and POWER adapter cables, as they can melt, burn up, fry your system or worse catch your house on fire.
*** Double check the manufacture you use, to purchase your mining equipment, please...
