Big festival of sacrifice is knocking at the door. Four more days to go. People are busy for buying cattle to slaughter on Eid day. Some people are in holy city Makkah for perform Hajj. Slaughter is the tradition of our prophet Ibrahim (Alaihe wa Sallam).
It has been narrated in holy Quran. Prophet Ibrahim (AWS) dreamt a dream to sacrifice his dearest one. Soon Ibrahim (AWS) slaughter 10 camel. Again, he saw that dream. After that he slaughter 100 camel. Again, he saw same dream. Prophet Ibrahim (AWS) fall on deep contemplation. At last he thought that “My son Ismail (AWS) is my dearest one to me”. He decided to sacrifice his son Ismail (AWS). This was a test of love between Allah and Prophet Ibrahim (AWS). One day Ibrahim (AWS) told his son Ismail (AWS), “I saw a dream that I am slaughtering you. What is your opinion?” Ismail (AWS) was as like as his father. He replied, “Please act accordingly as you directed by almighty Allah SWT. By the grace of almighty Allah, you will find me amongst tolerant.” Prophet Ibrahim (AWS) took his son Ismail (AWS) to Mount Arafat to execute the sacrifice. Ismail (AWS) told his father, “Please tie my hands and legs with rope, May be during the sacrifice time my legs and hands can touch your body. It will be my impertinence.” Prophet Ibrahim (AWS) tie his eye also with a piece of cloth. Because he may fell sympathy. At the moment of sacrifice Allah SWT replaced Ismail (AWS) with a ram, and Prophet Ibrahim (AWS) slaughtered the animal instead. This is a remarkable symbol of unconditional love and devotion to Almighty Allah.
Since that day every year 10th Zilhajj, the last month of Islamic calendar all muslims from every corner of this world perform the act of Qurbani where they slaughter an animal such as camel, buffalo, Ox, Cow, Goat etc and celebrate the wonderful occasion of Eid Ul Azha. They celebrate this devotion and love of Prophet Ibrahim (AWS) and Ismail (AWS).
No meat and blood of animal reaches to Allah. Almighty Allah sees only devotion, love and belief. Instead Allah give virtue for every hair of animals. At last I want to say, “Whatever the religion is joy is for all.”
